BEYOND: The Podcast for Moms Called to Business

Jun 20, 2023

The truth that I wish wasn't our reality: integrity is an issue in the world of online business, including the coaching and service industries. There are some marketers out there who are very good at sales tactics and forms of manipulation that just aren’t okay when you value ethics and integrity and putting more good into the world. There are others who are willing to do "whatever it takes" if it impacts their bottom line.

A lot of times, we emulate what we consume, and even when we have the best of intentions, we can take what we see those who we look up to in business doing and begin to emulate that without even questioning if it’s the right thing to do. It’s easy to get swept up in the way “everyone else” in our industry seems to be doing something and that isn’t always a bad thing; but what can happen is that ways of doing business that breach integrity can become so common that we just accept it as normal.

So what can you do if you want to lead a business that truly lives out moral character and values integrity? You have to be aware and intentional.

On this episode, you'll learn 8 principles to focus on when you what to be the kind of business owner who values integrity:

1. Do what you say you're going to do.
2. Don't sell anything you aren't personally sold on.
3. Focus on serving over selling.
4. Stay in your lane.
5. Keep learning and growing when it comes to your industry and skillset.
6. Be accountable and own your mistakes.
7. Be real. Be honest.
8. Be willing to change your mind.
