This summer in my business looked different than it ever has before. To be honest, some life stuff happened that needed my time and attention, and that meant pulling back from my business – not completely, but significantly. Although it wasn’t a complete sabbatical, it was very much like one in a number of ways.
What I learned is that, because of how I’ve intentionally built my business over the last several years, I COULD take this sort-of summer sabbatical without everything falling apart. And I’m so grateful I did. I’m sharing why I did it, what it looked like to take this semi-break and what valuable lessons I learned through it.
On this episode of BEYOND, you’ll learn:
All the things I didn’t do this summer, and the few priorities that were non-negotiable
How many hours I worked each week
What led me to take this sort-of sabbatical (it wasn’t burnout or stress)
The challenges and grief surrounding my dad's Alzheimer's
A realization that may lead to some fun changes in my business
What designing invitations for my in-laws’ surprise anniversary showed me
3 important lessons I learned from this “summer break” in entrepreneurship
