BEYOND: The Podcast for Moms Called to Business

Sep 8, 2020

So many of us feel like we're at the mercy of the people and circumstances in our lives. We become the victims, waiting for this person to change, waiting for circumstances to be different so that we can feel better. In 2020, so many of us feel stuck, waiting for life to "go back to normal". We believe that then, we'll finally be able to feel better. So we keep waiting. The truth? Our circumstances have far much less power than we give them. It's not ever people or circumstances (yep, even in times of a global pandemic) making us feel what we feel. It's always what we are choosing to make those circumstances mean. And the reality is that we each have a choice when faced with hard times: we can choose to be bitter, or better. We can choose to believe we're the victims of life's circumstances, or we can choose to think on purpose in ways that serve us better and allow us to live beyond our circumstances. In this episode, we're talking about why it's so easy for our human brain to believe we're the victim, how thinking this way holds us back in our lives, and three simple steps that can move you from feeling stuck and hopeless to feeling better as we look ahead to how we want to feel in our lives moving forward into the last four months of the year.
